Celebrating our Club Presidents

 

Each year, the members of the Club choose one of our number to be President for the coming year. This is no sinecure. The President takes an active role, chairing the Business Meetings, ensuring that our legal obligations are met, and leading from the front when it comes to Club projects and activities. Not only that, but there are Charter Nights to attend, District Meetings to report to, and much else besides.

 

Because of all this good work, we award each of our Past Presidents a badge with the title of ‘Past President,’ and record their year of office on our Roll of Honour. But that’s it; we are a true democracy. Last year’s President is just one of the troops this year!

 

But we are still grateful for everything they did; and in nearly ninety years’ of service we have a considerable debt to record. Here are the names of those Rotarians who, through the years, have deserved well of our Club.
