Southport Rotary Club Responds
Disasters occur in all shapes and forms, whether it is catastrophic floods in Cumbria, earthquakes in China or Haiti, or tsunamis in the Indian Ocean. Whatever the cause, one of the most important factors for the people concerned is to know that, out there, are individuals, groups and agencies who know, and understand, the problems, and can respond.
One of the most effective ways in which help can be channelled is through Rotary. Rotary is an international organisation; we have more than a million members spread around the world, and wherever a disaster strikes there is more than likely a local Rotary group which can start to focus relief efforts.

And then, of course, there are our own efforts. Whether we give support as part of our Community or International efforts, or whether we hold special fundraising events, Southport Rotary Club helps to channel much needed support. And the great thing is that none of the money ‘leaks’ on the way!
